Trade-In Program & Discounted Stereo Components

Stereo Stereo is happy to accept trade-ins from anyone who’s shopped with us before, so long as you’re trading the gear you bought from us.

As long as what you purchased is still in good working order and has been reasonably well cared for, Stereo Stereo will be happy to work with you.

However, you don’t need to have purchased your equipment from Stereo Stereo to have your trade-in accepted.

If you bought your stereo components elsewhere, we will consider your trade-in on a case by case basis. Before you approach us to inquire about a trade-in, it’s best to consider the types of hi-fi components we stock and the brands we carry. We won’t accept just any audio product or electronics. For example, if you want to replace your AirPods Max with the superior sound quality of wired hi-fi headphones from Audeze or Grado Labs, we’d be thrilled to talk to you! But we won’t be able to offer you trade-in value for your AirPods because we don’t sell Bluetooth products.

Trade-ins must be within the same product category. For example, if you want to upgrade from your entry-level KEF speakers to a more advanced set of speakers from Wilson Audio or Sonus faber, that’s something we’ll be happy to consider. But we won’t consider trades across component categories—for example, if you have a McIntosh turntable you don’t currently use but you’re shopping for a new Audio Research amplifier, we won’t be able to offer a trade-in discount for the turntable.

Additionally, while we are most enthusiastic to trade products made by the brands we carry, we will consider trade-in offers for other high-end audio brands, so long as they’re within the realm of hi-fi stereo components or professional-quality wired headphones. If you have a stereo system that you aren’t completely thrilled with currently and you want to trade up to something better, get in touch and our owner and resident audio expert Michael Klein will be happy to talk to you.

Of course, we can’t guarantee that our offer will be acceptable to you, and we’ll need to see your equipment in person before we finalize the trade. But we’re happy to discuss and see if we can make a deal.

Stereo Stereo is an authorized dealer for some of the world’s best audio brands, but you may be able to purchase used equipment from other brands if we happen to have availability. The best way to find out is to call!
