McIntosh
ABOUT THE BRAND: With an iconic logo and signature sleek product design, McIntosh is another of the most iconic brands in hi-fi, with a well-earned reputation based on its consistent quality for more than 75 years. McIntosh products are still produced in their Upstate New York factory, with many components placed by hand due to their intricacy and delicacy.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: As a teenager working his very first job selling stereo systems in the Pittsburgh suburb of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, McIntosh was one of the first brands Michael fell in love with. “We go back together 50 years,” he says. “I was always enamored of McIntosh’s legendary build quality and their iconic blue meters.”

KEF
ABOUT THE BRAND: Since 1961, KEF has been providing reliably high-quality speakers with a passion for innovation. The brand’s initials stand for Kent Engineering & Foundry, with the “Kent” in that name referring to the town in England where the company is headquartered. To this day, many of KEF’s product lines are manufactured in the original factory in Kent.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: “I adore that British sound and aesthetic,” Michael says of KEF. Noting the brand’s clean, minimalistic designs, he describes them as looking “simple,” but delivering sound and quality that is “so much more” than minimal. This is a brand that commands respect in the industry, with Michael noting that KEF has achieved “many firsts in a category where firsts are hard to come by.”
Audio Research
ABOUT THE BRAND: With a factory located in Minneapolis, Audio Research is another made-in-USA audio brand delivering consistency and quality across many decades. Unlike cheap modern tech, Audio Research’s products are built to last, even with heavy use, and are made to be repaired, with service supported by its passionate team of employees.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: For Michael, Audio Research’s hi-fi amps deliver “emotion. Soul. Excitement.” Noting that they “force you to pay attention” to what you’re hearing, Michael notes that “every time I turn one on, I wait for the tubes to warm up a bit and my heart starts beating faster. Every time.”

ABOUT THE BRAND: Modern Bluetooth earbuds sacrifice a lot in the name of convenience. Audeze (pronounced like “odyssey”) headphone take things in a different direction, combining highly advanced audio technology with the intimacy of a classic over-ear headphone to create gorgeous soundscapes adored by gamers, audiophiles and music production professionals alike.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: Michael’s musical family helped guide him toward Audeze headphones as a must-have brand for Stereo Stereo. “My son was looking for a pair of professional headphones to monitor his music, he listened to many brands and decided on Audeze,” Michael says. “They weren’t the most expensive option, but they were the best—the music just sounded right. That’s why so many professional musicians and mastering engineers use them.”

Backed by multiple patents and a wide range of proprietary technologies, these audio component rack systems have become a must-have item for the finest systems we curate.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: Even with decades of hi-fi experience under his belt, Michael was blown away the first time he experienced the difference in sound quality that HRS racks deliver. “When I first used an HRS audio stand on a particularly sensitive system, the change in sound was profound. Issues that we had been working on vanished. It wasn’t until we installed these racks that we could enjoy the system without distracting aberrations.”

Powered by curiosity and passionate engineering, Rega Research produces a satisfying balance between form and function with all of its products.
WHY WE LOVE THEM: As a true original himself, Michael always identifies with a maverick. Like his favorite Fleetwood Mac song, Michael admires Rega Research’s ability to go their own way. Rather than continuing the trend of making “big, bulky” turntables, Rega’s designs are “light, rigid and oh, so musical.” We’re proud to carry more than 15 of their products in our showroom.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: dCS is the kind of brand that other high-performance manufacturers respect. “When I first opened Stereo Stereo, I visited many manufacturers in order to decide which products I would carry. Most of these brands use dCS streamers to develop their own products. Talk about making an impression! I am very proud to be one of the few dCS dealers in the United States,” Michael says.
Shunyata Research

WHY WE LOVE THEM: When Stereo Stereo was still in its infancy, Michael was driven by a strong desire to find a state-of-the-art cable and power product line.
